Mike People Mover Perez is a veteran DJ based in Long Beach, California. Over decades of experience he’s honed his mixing style to a unique and exciting fusion of turntablism, trick mixing, and expert programming. His mixes can span the musical spectrum, including effortlessly mixing genres and eras that aren’t often combined. He’s graced the decks at some of LA and OC’s finest clubs and bars, including The Ice House, Circus Disco, The House of Blues (Hollywood & Anaheim), Cohiba (6 year residency), and he forever changed the sonic landscape of the Los Angeles bar scene with eclectic, yet expertly curated mixes performed during residencies at quintessential Downtown venues like The Falls Lounge, The King Eddy Saloon (oldest/longest running bar in LA), 6th Street Tavern, and The R Bar (K Town). While often imitated but never duplicated, People Mover eventually earned a residence on the Zulu Tribe Radio show streaming weekly on Breal.tv in 2015. Alongside friends and hosts Mark Luv (The Pharcyde, Unity) and Vicious Lee (Tupac, Tone Loc), People Mover shared the stage with countless Hip Hop and LA legends until the show’s end in 2019
You can still catch People Mover performing at Hip Hop functions and intimate venues throughout Los Angeles county. He’s still cranking out interesting and melodic blends in exciting and creative DJ mixes of the highest quality music to be discerned by only the most enlightened of ears 😉 His popup mixtape series is an ongoing engagement that has no set schedule but the latest mixes will be posted here.
